Hardware Catchup 2010-02-11 |
| By Tech Writers Group LLC (Houston, TX) |
To the person who gave it a one and thinks hardware needs to catch up, your ignorant to computer hardware cause its here. I have a Dell Quad core processor, 3 gigs ram, 2 tera byte harddrive and a BFG 280 video card with 1 gig of ram that blows doors on anything out there for graphics. My computer chews this game up and spits it out. You just have to invest in the good stuff if you want to play with the big boys who are serious gamers. Check out the water cooled video cards if you really want some speed but my 280 has zero problems with any of these games.

flight simulator x 2010-02-11 |
| By p10198 (WI, USA) |
this turned out to be a disappointment. installed this on 2.6 dual core with 4g mem.
256 mb video card. did many tweaks per microsoft forums. SAVE your money and stick with 2004 ACOF. Waaay better. i didn't buy this when it first came out so they could get rid of the bugs. 2004 had an update to replace missings bridges. X doesn't. did both service packs. still major bridges AND major rivers that define state borders. so good luck flying vfr. many major blds. gone, and if they are there, they look better, more complete, in 2004. I gave this to my son to PLAY with. he doesn't want it either. |

| The graphics of this game is so realistic and unimaginable. Highly recommended game for the development of intellectual skills. |
Where are all the 1's coming from. 2009-12-31 |

True, it does require a higher end PC but it is a great game.
Most of the 1's should add memory or upgrade. If you have a decent computer but it. |
Overall great simulator - Not so good for real pilots to practice Instrument Rating 2009-12-09 |
| By B. Burgraff (chicago, IL) |
I have a private pilots license in which I spend almost all of my time flying the 4 seat Cessna 172. The game is fairly realistic in terms of all the options you can set including weather and plane confirguations. I would highly recommend if you plan on just flying for fun, whether you are a real pilot or not.
However, if you are planning on practicing to obtain your instrument pilot license, there are better products out there. With the precision needed on an instrument flights, this simulator becomes difficult as it more or less floats to a turned direction but is not very easy to make minor heading corrections. In addition, the key instruments are fairly small and hard to read. That said, a better software for real pilots to get instrument rated is to go with the IP Trainer 7 software. For around $80 found online, you'll get the software and instrument text book. The graphics are very dated so you should NOT purchase for entertainment purposes, but I found to be a very good training tool as you are more concerned about learning how to fly instruments rather than the graphics anyway. |
